Pella Christian High School students clocked over 700 hours of service, many of which utilized funds granted by the Pella Community Foundation.
Students shopped and prepared 150 chili night meal kits for the Pella Food Shelf to bless clients. Chili meal kits included all the supplies for chili soup, cornbread sides and a blessing from the students.
Another group purchased coats, hats and boots to bless the ministry of Crossroads of Pella and still another planted trees.
Industrial arts teacher, Nolan Wiersma and his small group built a gaga ball pit on the
playground of Pella Christian Grade School, which has been a hit at recess and those in the neighborhood after school hours.
"Service is an important aspect of the students and faculty at Pella Christian High School. Many of this year's projects were positively impacted through the grant gifted to us from Pella Community Foundation," shared PCHS principal Kevin Herdegen. "Because of the Pella Community Foundation, the labor of our students was able to reach further and bless more people in the Pella area. We are thankful for their generous donation and support for Service Day at Pella Christian High."
